Docklands Scout Project Under Threat

Docklands Scout Project is a Scout centre that provides a unique water activities base for Scouts all over the world and it is under threat by our Governments proposal to sell off land and buildings owned by the Inland Waterways Association. A online petition has been set up on the number10 website which is aimed at protecting this Scout Centre See the e-mail below for more information please if you are willing to help save DSP, please sign the petition at the following web address http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/protectourcanals/ or if you do not like clicking on links from e-mails go to the downing street website (www.number10.gov.uk) and in the search box on the top right of the page, enter “Petition to: protect our canals by not selling off property owned by British waterways.”  And it should appear under the petitions tab that appears. Please be aware that you must be a British citizen or resident to sign the petition.

World Scout Moot 2010 - Kenya

World Scout Moots are the only World Scout event for members of the Scout Network to attend as participants.

In 2004, the 12th World Moot took place in Taiwan and GLMW Scout Network sent 2 members. from Pennore and ABC Why not find out what they experienced by asking them ?.

Unfortunately the 13th World Moot in Mozambique was cancelled.

The Next World Moot is planned for 2010 in Kenya.  More info to follow.

Visits Abroad procedures for Scout Network Members

Visits  Abroad now come under Rule 9.64 in POR. Any Scout Network Members, either individually or as a group, need to obtain an International Letter of Introduction. This will provide standard Scout Association Insurance cover as mentioned in POR, BUT NOT travel insurance for when you are abroad.

The Jack Petchey Foundation Award Scheme

Paccar Scout Camp Forestry Crew
